Women be crazy! That’s what I would say if I were going to approach this blog post like a stand-up comedian, be it a not so good stand-up comedian. But yeah, women be crazy! And when I say women, I am clearly speaking of myself here.
Why am I so crazy? Well, it all went down over the weekend. I had been looking forward to this little thing called the heirloom tomato festival happening at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I added it to our Google calendar (much to Mike’s chagrin). I had been seeing a lot of pictures of these beautiful, ripe, and multicolored tomatoes all over my social media feed and I was getting sooo amped up! How do you manage leftovers? I bet you are the kind of person that will eat the leftovers the next day for lunch. No, wait, you’re more of a repurpose the leftover pizza into a breakfast food by topping it with an egg kinda person. Right? Ooo, oo, oo! I bet you take a leftover sandwich and use the meat in a salad or a fancy frittata or omelet or something special like that!

A little later than I had planned, but yes, here it is, the part two to the slow cooker Philly cheese steak recipe from last week. Mike and I are just two people, so we had a good amount of steak left over from the original recipe. I had thought about putting all this goodness on top of fries, but been there, done that.
When in doubt, I turn to my old friend pizza. I love pizza. In fact, while Mike was on Spring break last week, we ate pizza almost every day. There are currently three different types of leftover pizza wrapped in foil in our refrigerator. Andy has inherited the pizza gene too. [Read more…]
