I love a good girls’ night out. One of my favorite girls’ nights out ever was when my two friends and I went to this amazing restaurant in Little Italy. It was right around the time I switched careers totally (for the third and hopefully last time).

The name of the restaurant was Davanti Enoteca. If you are ever in Chicago you must head here! It is a tiny restaurant with only one brick oven and not a lot of seats. Also, they do not take reservations so make plans to go to a neighboring bar to wait out your two hour wait for a table. Trust me it is sooooo worth it! The meal we ate at this place actually inspired two of my favorite recipes on the blog, this one and this one. But this post isn’t really about the food. It is about the cocktails before dinner
Continue reading: The Negroni

<img style="border:0;"align="left"

Hey friends. Welcome to the start of this sweet little project, just in time for the week of Mother’s Day called “Brunch Week.” A bunch of us bloggers got together to share our favorite brunch recipes. We figure, what Mom does not love brunch, right? Scratch that. What human being doesn’t like brunch?

Sleeping in and then being able to eat breakfast-ish food and drink cocktails? Sign me up any day!

One of my favorite all time go to brunch orders has to be a bloody Mary. I love the little kick of spice, plus it is basically like a meal in a glass. A while ago my brothers and our significant others went to an all-you-can drink bloody Mary bar. It cost ten dollars. They would give you the cup, the vodka, and the ice. You would take your cup and go to the bar to choose from straight up tomato juice along with fresh herbs and spices, different bloody Mary mixes, tons of olives, pickles, cheeses, and of course a big stick of celery
Continue reading: Candied Bacon Bloody Mary

<img style="border:0;"align="left"

Sometimes, I am the queen of stupid, which happens to be very weird, because I think of myself as a rather smart person. Let me expand on this type of stupid. Sometimes I do stupid things. I can see them coming from a mile away, yet, boom! I still somehow head right into it full force.

When I was in middle school, I played volleyball. During one particularly intense practice, we took a break for water. I ran to get my water bottle which was on the opposite end of the gym. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a friend gaining on me. I thought she was challenging me to a race. Turns out she was not. She was just very thirsty
Continue reading: Baked Mushroom Risotto

<img style="border:0;"align="left"

So, as a food blogger, it is my obligation to stay on top of food trends (just in case you didn’t know). I have tried my best to stay seasonal and pass along tasty trends to you guys. Sometimes, these trends are not so tasty, so I keep them to myself.

For example, kale chips. Remember that trend? Oh, wait, you don’t? That is because I tried this whole craze and decided for myself and all of you that this trend wasn’t for us. The “chips” disintegrated in my mouth and made my whole house smell like somebody had a bad case of gas. Sorry. I know that isn’t appetizing, but it is my duty to be honest with you
Continue reading: Whipped Avocado-Goat Cheese Toasts

<img style="border:0;"align="left"
