Luck of the Irish? Not so much…

March 17, 2013

Hi friends. I am so sorry for my absence over the weekend. I have some bad news. My hard drive crashed on my computer. Being a food blogger, I am quite dependent on technology to help connect me with all of you and deliver all my recipes. So, for me to lose a week or two of social media and computer usage is kinda not awesome, at all.

I feel like friggen Carrie from Sex and the City when her Mac crashed and everybody kept asking her, “Do you back all your documents up?” Lesson learned. Oh, another lesson is always have your computer plugged into a surge protector. Now I am looking at possibly losing two weeks worth of recipe pictures plus my entire library of recipe pictures.

I will stop being a sad Sally now.

Fear not readers, I will try my hardest to get you a few new posts in the meantime. They just might not be as frequent. Fingers crossed, I have my computer back in two weeks and all is back to normal again. Thank you all for your patience and please don’t forget about my little blog!

Boooo. . . not fun! I hope your computer genius is doing some magical work to get all your hard work back! I haven’t done a full system backup in awhile, I’m thinking that needs to happen. Also I finally need to decide on a cloud secondary back up! Eeek! So scary, I hope Weezer is by your side cheering you up and we will be here eagerly waiting your return.

Bummer 🙁 I think it was that exact episode of SATC that made me buy an external harddrive and start backing up (though I don’t do it often enough!). Good luck!

Used to happen to me on a yearly basis! Then I got a mac, and it’s been good. But I also back up every couple months–just in case! Hang in there please.

Sorry to hear that friend! I had my hard drive crash a few years ago (pre-blogging) and fortunately all of my files were recovered. Hopefully you will have the same luck!
PS. Thank you for the reminder to back up my files – something I have yet to do…

Awwww bummer!!! You have every right to be upset and as I HUGE S&C fan, I remember that episode well. I want to say on Carrie’s monitor came up a Sad Mac. Oh, well lesson learned.
