½TeaspoonFreshly Ground Black Pepper
1Cloveof Garlicsmashed
1 ¾CupsLow Sodium Beef Stock
Pinchof Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions
Place the bell pepper and sliced onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
It is easiest to slice the beef if you place it in the freezer for thirty minutes beforehand. Thinly slice the beef with a very sharp serrated knife. Place the sliced raw beef on top of the peppers and onion.
Season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cover with beef stock and nestle the piece of smashed garlic into the broth. Cover with lid and cook on low for seven hours.
The meat will be super tender and flavorful. Serve it on a slice of bread or a hoagie bun with a little ladle full of broth on top. Cover with a slice or two of provolone and then place under the broiler for a minute or two until the cheese melts.
