Whipped feta, hummus, and olive dip is an easy appetizer to throw together for any occasion. Hummus and whipped feta topped castelvetrano olives, herbs, and lemon juice is a bite of heaven!
I know this isn’t the typical football season sort of dip. This dip is for the girlies at the sports hang out.
Whipped feta can be easily made at home by blending a block of feta and a few tablespoons of cream cheese in a food processor until creamy. Or you can take the cheater route and buy whipped feta from Trader Joe’s.
Make your own hummus at home or use store-bought. It’s your party dip, choose your own adventure.
Ingredients to make whipped feta, hummus, and olive dip:
- Regular hummus
- Whipped feta
- Chopped castelvetrano olives
- Fresh dill
- Crushed red pepper flakes
- Zest and juice of a lemon
- Salt
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Pita Chips
This dip recipe is more about assembly. The assembly makes it look like this dip was hard to make, when in reality we know it was a cinch!
You are going to want to use a large shallow bowl or rimmed pate for the dip.
Alternate dollops of hummus and whipped feta all around the plate. Use a clean spoon to sort of swirl and press the dollops closer to each other.
Top the dip with chopped olives, fresh chopped dill, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, lemon zest, lemon juice, and finally a good drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.
You can serve the dip with a spoon if sharing at a big party or if you are having a wine night with a few close friends, just dig in with pita chips.
Other variations you can try using:
- Switch out the classic hummus for a garlic or red pepper flavor.
- Use a medley of your favorite olives instead of only one kind.
- Try using thyme and oregano instead of dill.
- Serve with mini naan instead of pita chips.
No matter how you serve this at whatever party whipped feta, hummus, and olive dip will certainly be a hit.
